You’ll be saying that too after you see these little beauties!!

Go on!

The two best things ever in this world – shoes and chocolate….are now combined!!! Wish I had thought of this idea….if only they would ship to me down under!

Here are just a few of their designs:

I love this from their site as well:

“Serving suggestion

We’ve heard people like to fill their chocolate shoes with champagne, drink the champagne from the shoe, then eat the shoe. Sounds good to us”

Today I love….Kawaii

3 Oct

Am I speaking English?

Well maybe not…..Kawaii is……

literally, “loveable” “cute” or “adorable” and has become a prominent aspect of Japanese popular culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, behavior, and mannerisms.[1]

I found Kawaii – thanks to Blythe, and my sister-in law’s Footpath travels to overseas lands….

One really cool site I love, love, love checking in on all the time is Spoonflower – last month they had a Kawaii competition for the best Kawaii fabric design! Here it is….

BYE 🙂

For now!!! 🙂

Today I love….A $1000 Ice Cream Sundae

28 Sep

You wouldn’t read about it…..I was telling my Mr. Big just the other night about this lovely little (well HUGE actually) concoction and ta da!!

One of my top 100 fave celebs (another post on the way about this folks!) a la Kandee Johnson went to the restaurant that serves this obscene dish!!!

Golden Opulence sundae

$1,000

First dates looking to impress or sweet-sixteens in search of something special strike gold, quite literally, at Serendipity 3, the legendary New York City eatery where celebs are often spotted. The restaurant’s golden opulence sundae is covered in 23-carat edible gold leaf and is also rich in flavor thanks to Tahitian vanilla ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla beans and chunks of rare Chuao chocolate from Venezuela.

In lieu of Hershey’s syrup and a maraschino cherry, this sundae is drizzled with one of the world’s most expensive chocolates, from Amedei Porcelana, and then adorned with candied fruits, gold covered almonds, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries.

The dish also features a dollop of sweet Grande Passion caviar served with a mother of pearl spoon and a gilded sugar flower. The whole shebang looks as good as it tastes, served in a Baccarat crystal goblet (yours to keep) with an 18-carat gold spoon (not included).

The Ultra Loop Bootie is a revolutionary shoe silhouette formed by dramatically molding ultra lightweight and ultra strong carbon fiber to enable an extreme heel construction. The design is based on a simple concept of penetration: a floating foot-bed slips through a sexy loop, functioning as both heel and upper.

Heel Height – 130mm/5.1″

And from the master himself, courtesy of ELLE:

“ELLE:  Have you ever walked around in your heels to make sure they’re comfortable?”

“I tried a size 43 Sharpei boots that we made especially for a friend. I think without any high heel experience anyone suffers. To ensure the comfort of our shoes we have a series of size 38 fitting models, including my wife.”

Today I love….The 7 wonders of Replica Jewellery

12 Sep

Thank the lordie* for replica jewellery as there is no way I would have ever gotten my hands on genuine beautiful pieces like these in this lifetime! (#1)

No, it’s not counterfeit folks – it’s replica and I believe it should be advertised as such. I don’t agree with counterfeit as it is misleading the customer. If it was counterfeit it would be sold at the same price as the original brand and also would be an exact copy of the product, marketed and advertised as the actual product, which is a complete lie to the consumer. (#2)

I believe designer goods are overpriced for a start. You need a god-damn personal loan to buy anything in the fashion pages these days. It’s just ridiculous. Rich, large conglomerates just keep getting richer and charging over $1000 for a pair of shoes is not economical to 90% of the population and I know for a fact the cost to make them would have been less than 20% of that! (#3)

I have dreamed and wished to be part of the club and for someone to buy me Tiffany – anything will do! How lame is that? Now I have my replica Tiffany and I am pacified and very satisfied. (#4)

Like the recent Hermes handbag on ebay – if you could afford that, would you really want to buy it – sight unseen on ebay of all places? No, I don’t think so! I have seen the Hermes factory and I know the craftmanship that goes into each and everyone of these bags but I believe that they are simply not worth the price tag!! (#5)

Sure, some people can spot the fake but you have to know what you are looking for and why waste time doing this? Spend time finding the best replica you can for a price you can afford I say!! Who agrees with me? (#6)

Oh, goody look what I found: The 5 most expensive handbags in the world…let’s prove my point right now…..

As the writer of the article says:

“You need one thing when you think about shopping for a designer handbag and that is money.”

Yep, you don’t need to think – you don’t need brains – because guess what? Money can’t buy you brains baby!!! But it can buy you a designer bag?? Woop-de-doo-dah!! I’d rather invest my money to make more or put it into bloody bricks and mortar – at least I’m getting some value for my $ as that is worth somewhere near the price you will pay for it!!! (#7)

The bags above seem to be one-offs or limited editions – this is the sort of luxury bag available to us plebs:

JACKPOT!!! Here we go…..

Australians are real deal on fake designer goods

Bridie Smith
June 22, 2006

AUSTRALIANS are the third most likely to buy fake designer goods because we think the real thing is over-priced, according to an international survey released today.

The online survey by AC Nielsen found only Canadians (37 per cent) and Americans (35 per cent) were more willing than Australians (29 per cent) to buy counterfeit goods and pass them off as the real deal.

“We love a great fake,” AC Nielsen executive director Nicole Torkar said. “People don’t see the value in the real designer brands because the imitation can be hard to spot.”

Ms Torkar said the survey revealed Australians felt designer goods were over-priced (88 per cent) and almost half (48 per cent) said designer brands were not necessarily of higher quality than standard brands.

“It’s more what’s wearable and what’s affordable, which is quite a practical approach,” she said. “We just don’t buy into it.”

The survey, taken last November, quizzed 23,500 people in 42 countries and exposed Australians as some of the more sceptical consumers when it comes to the value placed on designer brands.

The global results found Hungarians were the most likely to purchase designer brands (66 per cent) followed by consumers in Hong Kong (49 per cent) and Greece (34 per cent). Only 17 per cent of Australians were willing to buy the real thing.

Today I love….Meringue Rings

27 Aug

I’m a fidgeter…what about you???

I like to fidget….so I believe I really, really, really need one of these…or maybe more than one???

I love, love, love them so much I just want to eat them all up right now!!!

“Check out this tasty looking ring! The important word to look out for in the previous sentence is ‘looking’, the ring might look like a tasty little meringue, but unfortunately (or fortunately) they are not made out of egg whites and sugar, but industrial grade silicone, the kind of stuff that’s in your bathroom…But lets look at this in detail, shall we? Designed to look just like a little meringue, these rings are absolutely uber-delish. The silicone that’s used by German designer Tanja Hartmann makes those rings look so real that you immediately want to start sucking on them. Luckily they are made out of silicone and not sugar and egg whites, because that makes them a lot more durable then the real thing and trust us, sucking on your finger doesn’t really go down all that well in public.

In any case, the ring comes in 3 sizes, and whilst the silicone is stretchy, don’t opt for the smaller size, it will be so tight that it’s uncomfortable!

Now order the ring and start googling for the meringue recipe, we can tell you’re already anxious for a soft and fluffy sugar thingy…”

And they are cheap, cheap, cheap!!! Yay for us!!!

What do you think?

Well, my meringue recipe is now definitely coming and on the way folks….stay tuned!!!!

Today I love….Silken Ladders

21 Aug

It’s so nice to know that some people are out there living their dreams…..and then sharing them with us!

Thanks to Anna for sharing this with me, and now you! Enjoy and celebrate……..

“In the North Yorkshire Moors, in a snowy dark wood, in a little log cabin……Tom and Anna hid away from the world with only their guitars to keep them company……

Inspired by their surroundings, they sang their hearts out, they wrote songs, they recorded these songs and without knowing it, created Silken Ladders.

These songs come from the heart. They sing about the bird that kept them awake outside the cabin, about sleeping rough in a cave, about Granny’s attic and the seals that live amongst the industrial waste land near their cabin in Middlesbrough. With a folky sound, their music is harmonious, uplifting, touching, melodic and original. They have been working on their first album ‘Our Lost Songs’ which is due for release in February 2010.”

Today I love….Sliding Doors

Why did my life turn out this way?

Don’t get me wrong – the problem isn’t that I am not happy – I believe I am very happy….and I am thankful for my life….I am (reasonably) healthy, employed and loved, well housed, fed and clothed….I don’t actually want for much at all!

When I was growing up, I always envisaged that I would be in a different place to where I am now….

For instance….by time my Mother was my age, she had an 8 year old daughter (me) and another baby imminently due! (my brother)….of course times change….

Me, on the other hand….no children of my own (yet) but I do help look after Mr. Bigs’ kids every 2nd weekend and school holidays etc. and they are a lovely little handful of joy!!!

We do have plans however…

I thought I would have travelled the world….

I thought I would have bought 1 (if not 2) house(s) and/or made my dream home into dreamy spaces….

I thought I would have made a career for myself (not just a job!) and found my niche in the world…..I always thought I was here to make a difference in others lives….

I can’t help myself thinking….what if?

I have some regrets, yes….but what if I had taken that job?

What if that boyfriend didn’t dump me?

What if I had taken that choice instead of this one?

What if I had taken that road instead of this one?

What if someone had told me all those years ago, how hard it was going to be for me to own my own home…would I have listened? I like to think so….but I am probably kidding myself!

So now, I have some work to do….by the time I am 40 I have some things that I simply must do! So, I’ll need to write my list of things to do before 40 very soon! Stay tuned for that post!

I need to achieve…..I need to find my purpose in life and I need to be happy with the path I am on and I need to love, love, love myself again and not feel like such a failure all of the time….

I also want to know….what would you have told your younger self?
